Mr. Stephen defended Mr. Cunningham in a personal injury lawsuit filed by Police Officer Stephen Chlebek. The case was tried before a jury from December 15 to December 17, 2014. While on duty, Officer Chlebek traveled south bound in his squad car. He saw a motorist heading north bound at a high rate of speed. Meanwhile, Mr Cunningham likewise drove his car south bound 1 to 2 car lengths behind Officer Chlebek. The Officer abruptly slowed to pursue the north bound motorist and activated his lights and sirens. However, Mr. Cunningham did not have enough time and distance to avoid abrupt change in Officer Chlebek’s speed. As a result, a major impact took place. Officer Chlebek contended he was injured and that Mr. Cunningham was negligent. The Officer alleged injuries to his neck and back together with time off from his job. Mr. Stephen obtained the video from the police department showing the incident and contested the extent of the injuries. Through Mr. Stephen’s diligent and meticulous trial preparation, he persuaded the jury that Mr. Cunningham was not liable for the accident and the jury returned a verdict in favor of Mr. Cunningham.
