Our VerdictsBeverly and Pause in the Illinois Supreme Court

In February of 2013, Mr. DiPino tried a wrongful death case to verdict involving 3 estates against his client and the codefendant. Despite his client crossing the center of Peace Road in DeKalb, Illinois and colliding with the codefendant’s semi truck killing 3 passengers, the jury found for his client and the codefendant. The trial court entered judgment on the verdict and counsel for the Plaintiff estates appealed seeking a new trial. The appellate court denied the Plaintiffs’ appeal affirming the trial court’s entry of judgment on the verdict for the defendants. The Plaintiff sought leave to appeal to Illinois Supreme Court. The Illinois Supreme Court denied the Plaintiff Estates’ petition for leave to appeal and affirmed the appellate court.
